"Even though I believe the Porsche CGT is an unusually dangerous car in all but the most experienced hands, I doubt Porsche will have liability."

That is like calling a gun dangerous. Its the dip **** operating it that makes it dangerous. Just like any other thing on the face of the earth.

I'm not directly attacking you because you sound like a smart individual. I know you said you do not believe Porsche to be liable, but the fact some people sue companies because of their own stupidly is ****ing beyond me. Step up and take responsibility for your stupid death. I did not know Walker, and he may very well have done exactly what I'm saying. Its the fact so many people do not.

It is not good that people lost family members. I hope this is obvious, but people need to step up and be responsible for their own god damn actions. For anyone even to bring Porsche up as being responsible makes my blood boil. How can that even be brought up in a court room with out being thrown directly out?

I get in a "race" car at a race track, the driver looses control, and then I die. I'm in a car going around a track at a motorsport event. Should I sue the track owners for putting me in an unsafe environment or the car manufacturer for building a piece of **** that killed me? How about the people that poured the asphalt at the track for making the driver lose control? You have no one to blame, but yourself for putting yourself in that situation. You should not expect a dime from anyone except your life insurance.

I get in my Benz and do go haul *** down my block. A car pulls out, I T bone them, and kill the driver. Should I be able to sue Mercedes for mental/physical/property damages because they didn't offer carbon ceramic brakes on the car? Maybe I should be able to sue the person for pulling out and blocking my pursuit of happiness???? I dont know anymore....

Just the stupidity and illogical behavior that is accepted in our society. It makes me sick...

Couple points I want to note. First, Paul Walker wasn't driving. Roger Rojas was. Second, in many of these lawsuits, and no one is saying one will arise here, it is the lawyers that get into the ears of the people involved and that's when the lawsuits fly. The firms have to bring in the billable hours after all. So while your notion of personal responsibility is admirable, if you take yourself out, you don't really know what the actions of the loved ones you leave behind will be. This is what happened in the Fontana Raceway crash, the drivers wife did not sue anyone though she was approached quite often to do so. She did end up having to defend her late husbands estate because it was the passengers fiance, no doubt lamenting the missed marriage pay day that escaped from her grasp, who was convinced to sue someone, anyone. I think the settlement from everyone was around $4.5 million and I'm sure only a fraction of that made it to her pockets, with the majority going to the law firm.

I know he wasn't driving and I know you can not control what happens after your dead. Its just the fact that it needs to be said is what bothers me. I do not just mean in this case, the case of the CGT, or the incident at the track. I mean it in a little bigger picture.

I understand and that post was pulled from the Ferrarichat board and given the clientele over there, that's where the discussion musings went within 7 or 8 pages. Shut down half the law firms in this country and maybe we get a less litigious society.
