Things to Look For
Hello, I'm looking to buy a 2003 E55, 42k miles, two owner, clean carfax, looks to be in pretty good shape. I'm hoping to get it for around $20k. I've read (and been scared quite a bit) by stories about SBC and airmatic failures, but am a decent DIY-er and hoping I can tackle most issues with these cars.
Just curious if anyone has any overall thoughts on this price, things I should plan to be spending money on, etc. I've exhausted the search function on this site and looking for more of a general feel on how reliable these cars are.
Thanks, and will hopefully be on here posting pics of the new ride soon!

try to buy 05 or 06. 03 has a few issues thats what I've heard when i asked around before i bought my 05. 03 has a couple of issues. You are going to deal with airmatic no matter what almost everyone has. you can do what i did and take out the airmatic and switch to coil overs when your aromatic goes out. SBC isn't too common. if your good at diy than don't worry the car is pretty easy to work on and a lot of good diy written up on the forum for just about anything good luck ! you will love the car !
