E55 550cc injector install question.

Ok so I'm in the process of installing new 550 injectors I got from eurocharged and I was unsure if the factory clip goes on the top notch on the injector or if I'm supposed to remove the orange tab and install on that one. The top notch doesn't seem to go in as deep or seem as tight of a fit as the factory injectors. Any info would be helpful. Also has anyone had problems with the clip figment I can't seem to get the second on to the back on the driver side to fit.

Hi

In regards to the second back one on the drivers side that doesn't fit properly, what is the problem you are having?

Regards,

The way that the injector sits with plug clamp on there is no room to connect the factory plug with the adapter installed. I kinda tried something, please don't blast me for it. I know it wasn't the right or permanent answer. I didn't use the injector clamp and turned the injector to fit and it fit pretty snug when the fuel rail was bolted Down. After I tuned it I started it the engine ran rough so I checked the code and cylinder 7 misfire code came up. But from what I read #7 is on the opposite side. Any ideas?

Hi

My car had "EXACTLY" the same problem. I spoke to Eurocharged about it and they had not heard of the issue before. I ended up having to put my car on a tilt tray and have it towed to another workshop and they figured it all out for me.

Then a couple weeks later I had to replace the wiring adaptor on the injector and since then all is fine. I am happy to give you the phone number to the mechanic in Australia who got it going for me, just PM me for the information.

Regards,

OZZYAMG

Thanks I'm in hawaii though lol. Did they rewire the plug on the stock wiring harness or did they change out just the adapter that eurocharged sent?. And am I correct in assuming that the number 7 injector is on the passenger side. Thanks for the info man.

Hi

I am not sure of the location of injector 7, however the injector with the fitment issue on my car was the passenger side, 2nd closest to the passengers feet but our cars in Australia are right hand drive, so on a US version it was the 2nd closest injector to the drivers feet. It was a problem of the cars wiring loom not fully reaching the injector and plugging in correctly.

I am not sure exactly what the mechanic did but about a month later the adaptor became faulty and it was replaced by Eurocharged and so far it has been ok which is a few months now.

Regards,

OZZYAMG

Ah ok. Yeah I'm thinking of ordering a adapter kit that has wires in between for better fitment but I'm going to give it another go tomorrow when I have more light. Maybe I can get it to seat better. Thank you again for the info.

Not that it makes sense to me, it is my belief that the cylinder arrangement on a AMG Benz is standing in front of the car looking at the engine, left side is 1,2,3,4, Right side 5,6,7,8. Please correct me if this is wrong, as far as this makes no sense to me, would have thought this to be opposite but in Germany they sometimes do things odd, LOL

I have a set of Eurocharged 550 injectors with adapters waiting to install myself. Do you have any pictures depicting the clip/fitment issue described above along with solution? I thought these were direct replacement injectors, now I'm hesitant to pull my supercharger off without a known solution

Well I talked to john at eurocharged and he helped me out so last night I was ablle to get them all put in and now it's running great. Thank you for all the help on here as well.

And mrweeir you don't have to pull your super charger off. It's really not that bad of a job just the air box surge tanks and throttle body for the most part. The problem I was having was in the valve cover were cylinder #7 is there is a nipple to a breather tube that gets in the way. It's a very tight fit to get the clip to fit in there. John recommended that I rotate the clip 45degrees from the stock direction and it worked. The clip that holds the injector to the fuel rail just has to sit a little funny though.

I have these injectors from EC I have not installed them yet, mods are 168/84 pulleys,Kleemann headers and cams,Benz 82 mm TB,PTE thermostat, extra cooler, trunk tank, this is an 03 sl55, my question is ,are these injectors gonna go way fat and I need a new tune or will they go right in and be compatible with Kleemann box tune ?i have been told they are within limits and will adjust ,I have also been told without a new tune I could gas wash the cylinder from injectors ,I have Dashdaq XL and 2 Wideband sensors to monitor but would rather not gas wash the cylinder

Thanks Djchrism4. I'm installing an MB 82mm TB, 550cc injectors and changing S/C fluid at the same time which is why I'm pulling it off. I'm going a different route and will not be using the plastic clips that came with the injectors. Will be simpler and no fitment issues. Will post pics when I get it all done.
