question in regards to doing complete trans flush fluid change

So finally sourced some pennzoil 134 atf locally, but was only able to get it by case. was curious if i could use 3 quarts of the cheaper Valvoline max life stuff to begin doing the flush and then for the remainder of the flush and fill using the case of 12?

using this procedure

just wanted to see if anyone can confirm that there is no drain plug on the torque converter on a 06 cls55 before i start putting the car back together and start disconnecting trans line to do the flush.

I think i answered my own question ^, took the 2 rubber rectangular grommets off and spun the crank with a ratchet and there is no drain plug.

Also my new drain plugs and copper washers are not the same as whats in my pan now. the od of the head as well as the thread length is about half of the original one drain plug. also the new copper washers dont even cover the entire drain plug cavity .

Is this ok to use or is it going to leak? i have some similar copper washers at work i will try with the old drain plug until someone can shine some light in the matter.

also wouldnt it make more sense to keep the old trans filter in when doing the torque converter flush with the first 6 quarts?

engine up to temperature(around 80 deg F on the trans fluid), running and in Park.start with 4 qts and check the level. the new washers should be fine. you can re-use the old drain plug, unless the head was stripped.

You can use your old plug, but it would be a good idea to use a new washer if you say you have some the appropriate size.
