Lol there's tread on them it's just packed with snow, should have checked the weather . Three inches of snow + pilot super sports and a lot of low end torque is not fun lol

Swapping my 19" summer and 18" winter wheel/tires sets gives me time to clean the other set and get them re-balanced before the next season. (The attached photo shows me using a wheelbarrow for cleaning them. It allows the tire/wheel to rotate on the barrow sides to protect the wheel surfaces, and minimizes the 'back-breaking' bending over when cleaning them on the ground/floor.)

Just cut a 20 by 20 section of grass and started sweating. Hot and humid in Florida still. About to head out in one of the cars with the winter setup......... Drag radials.

BMW M5 + E55 AMG
Been in Canada for over a decade and I've never seen anything like this. Every single thing outside has been entombed in an inch of thick ice! How the hell am I supposed to thaw out the car?! The streets are literally like skating rinks.

I drove mine on the worst snowstorm yet this year on Tueday. Highways were untouched.
Slight uphill I went completely perpendicular on route95 at 5mph - sliding toward concrete barrier. Took off ESP, steering wheel all the way to the left and doing 60 in one spot made it uphillin two minutes. Crazy. Heavy traffic, and I was taking 2 lanes. Abandoned 535i in the middle. People rolled down their windows to hear the AMG fury lol.
Took 3 hours to get home what usually takes 25minutes.
I make it uphill sliding around at 2mph. I'm on Dunlop wintersport 3d 295/30/19 on cv3 vossen. People look at me like I'm psycho in snowstorms. I enjoy it.
The snowstorm the weekend before that tuesday I had an E500 pass me in fastlane doing 5-10mph faster than my 35mph. 300 feet later he went 720degrees across the highway into breakdown lane barrier with headlights pointing at me. Smh.
Snowed in? Nope.

About a week ago I "almost" got denied on my drive home in the snowstorm....
Nearly bald Blizzaks out back and about 5" of unplowed snow on the hill that leads to my house. I usually leave the ESP on, and put the transmission in "C" mode so that it will start in 2nd gear. It was my first time driving in snow with the Quaife LSD installed...
On the final section of the climb, the ESP was getting so aggressive that I was losing all the momentum I'd established in the run-up to the hill. By the time I got to the top, I was going literally 1MPH...... Just about as close to failing as you can get.
Next time, I'm thinking about turning ESP off and trying it that way.... Of course, I've got a fresh set of Blizzaks out back now, so it probably won't be as difficult next time around anyway.

You guys are completely nuts going out in the snow with these cars.
I had a devil of a time with my beater FWD Toyota Camry with sick winter tires on in these storms, let alone a 500+HP RWD AMG.
My car was parked through the storms and until the rain washed away all that nasty salt they pound on all the roads.

I find it nuts NOT to enjoy a car that depreciates as fast as an AMG..... what are you saving it for??? Even the best-preserved E55s are still going to be worthless in a couple more years...
ESP and a good set of winter tires make this car surprisingly good in the snow. A little driving skill and a touch of common sense go a long way.

I don't know, man. I enjoy the hell out of this car and all cars I own - making excuses just to drive it- but driving in the snow and with the types of idiots on the road, I don't take the risks.

I also have a g35x but still prefer the beast in any weather.

With the right tires these cars can be great in the snow. Ice is another story as is the 4 inches of rain and all the snow Melting here in Ohio. it caused all the side roads to flood and 75 was completely flooded and closed.
