'07 E63 - Park Distance sensors freak out in the winter…fix?
So my '07 E63 has had this issue almost since it was new, and it has been totally weather depended, but it drives me nuts. In the winter, mainly when there is snow and ice, the Park Distance sensors will be fine when driving along, and then as soon as I hit the brakes to stop, the front sensors freak out like I am about to hit something. Initially I thought that maybe the snow and ice was covering them, so I removed all of the snow and ice from the front bumper, and it still continued to do it, and does it to this very day. If I take the car through a hot car wash and take it home, it is fine. If I leave it in my heated garage overnight, it is fine (which is why the dealer never found an issue…the car always thawed out in their shop first). Does anyone have any suggestions on this?? It is just annoying, and I hate for there to be anything at all wrong with any of my cars.
Thank you!
Thank you!

This happens all the time, my Laser Interceptor setup freaks out too.
I found that shutting them off until the car is warmer helps. Turn them on when you park (although sometimes you can forget they're off). It's just something those of us who drive it in snow have to deal with.
I saw your thread about picking up a W212 E63. Glad youre still in the fam! Why not wait another year and get a bi-turbo 2012 instead of '10 which will keep dropping in price?

lol has happened with my car every winter since I bought the car (two winter seasons)
Nothing wrong with em, snow flurries and other stuff sticks to one of the sensors and it
freaks em
I , do not think there is a fix for it (software wise) hardware wise ^^ like he said.

Yes, I am on the hunt for a W212 E63. I like the engine and exhaust sound of the 2010 and 2011 cars better, and it will be interesting to have the W211 E63 and W212 E63 side by side in the garage to see how they sound together.
