E55 AMG
oil leak from back of engine

any common oil leaks from the back of the engine when the car sits. it just started and leaks when the car is parked, it was sitting in the garage for about 2 weeks.

Check the color. If its green/yellow to red it could be a trans connector. The red fades out over time and the trans fluid turns a green/yellow color. Oil is well obviously yellow to dark brown depending on age. That would mean a rear main seal.

Definitely rear main seal, had mine done last year, make sure you replace the plate and all new bolts too

This is my logic. Mine has started to seep a little and i figure I'd put it off until I can get my hands on that stall. One of those "while i'm in there" mods.

There is a recall out for this I believe. I replaced mine without knowing. Check if it has a recall/service bulletin for this issue and see if the job was done by Mercedes. I could've gotten it done for free. I only found out when my fuel senders were leaking and asked Mercedes to check on outstanding work that needed being done
