Feeler: Heavily Modded CLK55
I've been debating selling my CLK55. It has a long list of mods, many of which are custom. It is a 2001 Black Opal CLK55 with about 100k miles on it. Here is a list of mods off the top of my head (I'm sure I'm leaving some out because I don't remember it all):
Weistec 2.9L Supercharger with 2 pulleys
82mm TB
Updated to 55k ECU and 55k TCU
Electric fan
Kleemann headers
Custom dual 3" exhaust
Custom ported heads (very low miles with fresh head gaskets)
ARP head studs
Eurocharged heat exchanger
Custom trunk tank
SHR fully built transmission
higher stall torque converter
Dual 044 fuel pumps, braided fuel lines, Aeromotive fuel filter, Weldon FPR
Snow performance Stage 3 meth kit
Custom carbon fiber driveshaft
Custom billet "flex" discs"
M215 diff with 3.06 gears with custom diff cover and custom billet diff mounts
Custom 1500hp axles with billet diff flanges and broached hubs
Carlsson RS relpica front bumpers molded to factor upper half AMG bumper for perfect fitment.
Carbon fiber hood but it is damaged and will put stock hood back on.
Lorinser decklid and roof spoilers.
Brembo front BBK
Car currently on 19" Volk LE37's but have 19" DPE ST7's, 18" Kinesis K18R and two sets of CCW 16" drag rears and 1 set of front skinnies.
Also have race seats that aren't installed if buyer is interested.
I haven't added it up but you can easily see there is alot of money in modifications. Alot of the new mods have been done this year.
With the old setup and the TCU not allowing me to launch the car it trapped 132.9 full interior. The new setup includes more boost and ported heads. If tuned properly it should trap alot higher now. It gained 50whp over previous setup before maxing out what was the single 044 fuel pump setup with stock fuel lines. Car is not currently tuned for WOT. It should go 9s with a good tune.
If I don't get a good offer for the whole car I might part it out or just try to finish it. Pm me with serious offers.

Haven't decided on what to get next
Thanks
I then decided to up the boost and put ported heads and forged pistons in the car. Long story short I just ended up with factory bottom end, ported heads, ARP head bolts, and more boost. Made 632whp with a maxed out single 044 fuel pump. Redid all the fueling and added another pump and haven't been able to get the tune right since. Will make another attempt next week. The car would be a monster with a good tune. I'd be willing to bet it's a 9 second car with everything sorted
Lol I thought about it but I want more of a challenge. No GTR for the same reason. And everyone has one. I like the path less travelled

That's probably the best advice. To the right buyer and it may take some time, you may be able to get $18k. The car is worth around $9k to $10k stock. Unfortunately, you may only be able to recoup $1 to $2 for every $10 you spent on modifications. Not to mention, to many buyers the modifications are a huge negative since many vehicles with such extensive modifications are driven very hard, i.e., a 1/4 mile at a time.
Beautiful beast. I hope you are able to recoup some of what you spent and find the right buyer who will appreciate the effort you put into making the car so quick. However, if it were my car, I would keep it and drive the car until you get your money out of the modifications.

The main issue right now is getting the ECU tuned for high boost. I have a tuned TCU waiting to go in for the torque limiter issue once ECU is tuned properly.

I would consider the new Corvette Stingray and modify it. The 2015 new style mustang will also be exciting once the Shelby version comes out.
