Anyone running the PLM Heat Exchanger?

Im about to buy a HE and cant decide what brand to go with. I have the stock E55 bumper and I dont want to modify anything. I would like everything to fit perfectly. I love the Monster Faabtech one but I doubt it will fit.

I saw the PLM is a direct bold on and even has brackets for the oil cooler. Anyone have any experiences with the PLM HE? Hows the fitment?

Thanks

I have one and it was super easy to put on and worked well. I have since bypassed it since I have the Killer Chiller, trunk tank, and meth. But certainly give it a thumbs up!!

How did you mount the oil cooler?

Super high tech..with some zip ties! It's not heavy to begin with... I guess I could have fabbed some brackets, but I didn't think it was necessary...

Nice quality and total bolt in replacement. No drilling or zip ties needed. I would certainly recommend it.

I wonder if there are any advantages to running a different one like the Eurocharged or the Fabtech for example.

I wonder if there would be noticeable differences.

I doubt there would be any real world diff. For the money the PLM is the way to go 100% complete bolt on. No zip ties no missing brackets, just bolt and go.

Which IC pump are you running?

Good choice for your plans and plug and play. I have the Mezeire WP136 which is large but stick with the 010 for your setup.

I'm just trying to improve on what the stock parts offer. I font want to hack the car up or anything. This is a daily driver and it will never be a race car.

Hey guys not to hijack the thread but I've also been debating between the PLM and the Eurocharged H/E. I read somewhere that EC one has better core and that the PLM gives a bulge on the bumper if if you don't have the E63 conversion. What do you think about that ?

I haven't heard much of the PLM to be honest but the only ones I heard causes the bumper to bulge is the Euro and Fabtech. Its because there is no place to mount the oil cooler and when people install it under the HE theres no room and pushes the bumper down.

That's what I gathered from reading around. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Well I might've misread who knows.. I kinda like the PLM because it's direct bolt on but yet not very famous company.. which doesn't necessarily mean anything bad but.. you know. I think it probably won't make that much difference since they're both the same capacity and fin area.. I think the major problem is the pump anyways.. in hot weather after 4-5 WOT runs my SC goes out.. I already got the Bosch 010 and probably will go with the PLM for lack of argument if EC is better in any way.

Yea I don't see anyone comparing all HE available and provide better results with the other companies.

I know Fabtech makes a monster HE, Fluidyne makes one too that seems no one here runs it and I believe Speed Driven makes one as well.

Yeah I was briefly considering the Fabtech but I think it might be a little too big. Just read on Eurocharged and PLM sites that both h/es have furnace brazed non epoxy cores.. so I think the choice is pretty clear to me. I like direct bolt-ons !

Code is 10ms.. They both have the same capacity and fin area I'm not sure about the actual 3d dimensions.

can you guys that jhave changed out your factory H/Es chime in here a bit? Is there a difference that you noticed in the car or is this a 'I think it makes a difference' mod like the TTM scoops?
Look forward to hearing your thoughts!
Regards

Yes, I saw a difference, but I also replaced my I/C pump at the same time.
