Importing an E50
Hey Guys
I have been pondering about importing one of these.
Anyone know what headaches are in store if I try this?
There seem to be a good bit of these at less than 19k or mid 20's
have a look here.

Why bother?
Seems like the hassle would not be worth it. You'd have to pay to import it and then pay big time to get it up to US specs. In the end you'll have a unique car (in the US anyway), but one that is older and less powerful than an E55. I'd say you're better off just getting a high miles '99 E55 if you're looking to get a low price.
The E50 pre-dated the E55, it had a smaller engine (5.0 vs 5.5L), a little less horse power, and quite bit less torque.
