Best Tire Width

For a staggered setup on the W211 E63 what is the best width tires for front and back? Obviously it's a bit subjective and it all depends on the application, but for the best combination of handling, straight line traction, and weight (hopefully the ability to slide the back end out a bit too ) is it best to do a 275, 285, or 295 tire out back? I'm sure the differences are somewhat marginal and more based on the tire itself but I'm still sure it makes a difference. Also, are most setups a 245/275, 255/285, and 255/295 front-back width? I assume this affects the handling in terms of oversteer and understeer to some extent, and I've done some searching on the forum and haven't seen much information when comparing widths front to back. Thanks.

I've been on 245/35/19 & 275/30/19 for the past 9yrs. My next set however I'm going to go with a 285/30/19 out back (for traction) if I can find a set sticky enough

Will the stock E63 rims accommodate the rear tire widths mentioned above?

I'm on 20s... I run a 255/30 up front and a 305/25 out back. I've been through 275, 285 & 295s out back. The 305s have been on almost a year and they still look great. The others I blew through really fast.

The stock E63 rims are 9 so they can comfortably fit 275s which are probably the optimal fit after the 265... I'm sure they can go to 285 or even 295 as I've heard of people doing it with certain tires but they will start to bulge, best to probably do 10" out back. Might be wrong on this but that's how I understand it, and so far I'm thinking 255/295 is the best setup on the E63. 305 sounds gnarly though, only afraid that it would lessen the ability to slide the back end out if I ever wanted to on my future AMG

The stock rims are 9 at the rear not 9.5
