Has anyone tried these mufflers yet?
These are from a 2011 Bi-Turbo E63. I got a hell of a deal on them too. I figured I would do a mock up on the left side to see how much modification will be required before I commit to the install. I know these sound good on the 63, but I am wondering how they will sound on the 55?

I am also concerned about the trapezoid shaped tips. If they look out of place on the car. I can remove them, and put the ones from the stock mufflers on. You can fix nearly anything with a cut-off wheel, and a welder!
I just picked them up yesterday. I will probably start next week on the mock up.

Well, I removed the left muffler today, and put the muffler from the 212 chassis E63 in its place. I am sad to say that I do not feel as though this is going to be a viable option. The shape of the muffler itself is the issue with fitment. I can modify nearly any other facet of them without hesitation, but modifying the shape of the muffler itself is concerning. I did not get a picture of the interference with the chassis, but I am hesitant to change the case/baffling of the mufflers. Which would be necessary in order to have proper fitment.
As you can see in the first picture. There is a pronounced drop towards the inside of the muffler. This allows for inner clearance of the chassis on the stock muffler. The 212 chassis muffler dos not have this. Therefore, the muffler cannot be lifted into the cavity properly.
I am not a fan of the tips either. This is a problem that I could fix though. I wish that this was the only problem I had with these.
The muffler case would need to be modified in order to tuck it in to the cavity properly. I would hate adversely affect the sound of the mufflers by changing it. That is just my opinion at this time.

Joetona, you have a good sounding R129! The tips suit your chassis better due to the pronounced edges of the 129. More so than the 211.

I don't think a 2011 e63 bi turbo exists(in the US I mean), those must be from a NA e63 w212. Or maybe it's a typo and they're from a 2012 e63 biturbo.

Yea, that's what I thought...
The biturbos started in 2012 in the US.
I wonder if there is much difference in the mufflers from the NA E63 vs the biturbo E63s. It'd be nice to know.
Exhaust doesn't look half bad, the tips gotta go ... but as you said, OP, those are an easy swap. I think you should truck along and finish the project and while you're at it, delete the resonator, too.

The mufflers look the same from the w212 NA E63 and w212 bi turbo E63 but they have different part #'s so this tells me they are different sound wise.
I agree if you don't like the tips chop them off and use the 55 tips.
