Favorite mods, options on your car
I am always looking for ways to improve my car, hence all the retrofits and upgrades .. thought I would start a thread to share ideas and opinions on each upgrade and option. I was chatting back and forth with another fellow enthusiast (great helpful guy) who gave me even more ways to spend my money .. thought I would extend the conversation . I may have missed a couple of things I have done too.
Here's my ranked list:
1. Power (of course)
a. Cooling - PLM Heat Exchanger, Meziere pump
b. Tune
c. Headers
d. Injectors
e. Pulley
2. Options/cosmetics/devices etc ..:
Dashdaq - O2 and pressure sensor - great tool. A logger is a must.
Keyless Go - love it. Wish all my cars had it.
Parktronic - use it every day .. so convenient
Auto trunk closer - every day, not lazy just think it's cool
Folding facelift mirrors - for the looks alone it's worth it IMHO.
E63 front end conversion - clean rugged looks.
iPod retrofit with BT connectivity - easy sync of music.
Heated and ventilated seats - upgraded fans make a difference.
LED standing lights - small cheap quick conversion but sooo worth it
Distronic - cool gadget. If only it could work in stop and go traffic like DIS plus
Rear shades - nice in summer time to block out the sun.
3. In the works:
Command NGT 2.5
TPMS retrofit - some dislike it. I just wanna do it.
Trunk or hood tank - custom spare wheel or off-the-shelf. Is it worth it? I don't do back to back runs.
Paddle shifters - just waiting on which steering to go with.
6. Star mods - mostly free
Folding door mirrors - hate people bumping past them when parked
Rear O2s off - needed
SBC-H - good at stop lights and in traffic.
Seatbelt reminder off - hate the chime at low speeds
Auto recirc at low speeds
Speed limiter off
Flashing emergency brake lamps
Keyless reminder off
Tankinfo
5. Possible future stuff
Heated steering - rare option it seems, would like flat-bottom also.
Updated cluster
Rear carbon diffuser

KeylessGo. I find myself walking up to my other car pulling the locked handle expecting it to open. Dynamic seats are pretty neat too. And, of course, the power.

love, love, LOVE my pulley & tune (ecu & tcu)
my FTP H/E and TTM scoops - gives that "hmm" look when people see it... (see signature pic)
and the basic stealthiness of a 4-door sedan that will kill damn near anything
I'd love to love my Kleeman headers... but I just can't seem to find my mechanic!?!

Headers - They let the beast breath, and they sound good.
Steering wheel - You appreciate it every time you drive the car
ELM - The car just looks better

3000 stall converter added a lot of fun, that most others do not have. Pulley`s, header`s, ported heads, cooling and other bolt ons are fun but still common mods these days
6 years and still not found a set of wheels I like and that fits well Oh yeah, except my drag racing wheel set (fits well, great traction and ultra light.

Favorite mods so far are just cosmetic. Painted stock wheels and badges a dark gray metallic color and installed the ELM V2 and 10mm wheel spacers and suvneer carbon front lip and can-bus LED city lights custom colored to 3000k. Power mods come this year as I no longer have a wedding to pay for .

Factory
Dynamic seats, never had them before
Aftermarket
90mm throttle body, because I "discovered" it, the e63 mufflers came in very close second though. I'm still waiting for the day the noise will wear me out, but everytime I hear the beast roar I just smile and smile and smile while my wife shakes her head and my sons yell for more.

Did you retrofit your dynamic seats into your car?

Factory:
1st: Pano, I know it makes noise, but love the dual glass panels
2ed: Two tone Blue and Charcoal leather seats
Might like Distronic once I get it fully installed, still need 2 more parts, then I can do it
Wish list:
Someone in the Portland, OR area that knows Star tricks!

Thanks to everyone that shared … gives me other ideas of stuff I missed! and other ideas for me to consider
I forgot I also have:
CLS start stop - Carbon fibre .. love the feel. Hated the original leather one that wears
Bagman: Yes I have Akebono brake pads - didn't think of this one but yeah hated the dust build up of OEM pads. These are grippy and no dust build up. I didn't know about the CD Changer delete. I will probably do that after I install the NTG 2.5
Tal: What steering did you do?
Man55le - I thought all E55s got dynamic seats? I didn't list it because of that .. it's cool .. first time I drove one it startled me when I cornered hard cos I wasn't expecting it. I never make that much use of them anymore though.
Toadster: I love stealthiness too. That's one of the reasons I got the car
Exotic-metal55: I like your trunk tank also .. if you don't like it let me know, I'd be happy to take it off your hands

I have no cosmetic mods except trunk and roof spoilers. Everything I have is to go fast. And my favorite is my LSD and meth, since I,m a Jnky.
