White E63 Wagon Paint Correction and Coating
Hey Guys, thought you might enjoy viewing a recent job I finished up.
I received a call early last week from a very excited E63 owner. Having just found a rare White E63 Wagon locally he was eager to get it in the best shape possible. We decided a full stage III correction and CQuartz Finest ceramic coating was the best way to go. There is only about 70 of these in the states and I've been lucky enough to work on two so far, looking forward to several more!
Main Points:
-Heavy swirls/paint marring
-Hazy reflection
-CQuartz Finest coating
Vehicle was worked on for a total of 2 1/2 days, here is the process it underwent.
Paint condition
After vehicle was decontaminated a test spot was worked on to find the proper combination for the highest level of correction and gloss. Mercedes uses a ceramic clear so a pretty aggressive compounding step was necessary.
Test spot video:
Hood 50/50
Fender before
fender after
after polishing
Door before
door after
B pillars before
after
After correction and polishing work, vehicle was then prepped and CQuartz Finest was applied in two separate coats.
Here is the result of over 20 hours of work, Enjoy!
Thanks for viewing,
Tim

Thank you gentleman! It was a TON of work start to finish but the end result and the look on my clients face was worth it.
Luckily most of the defects weren't very deep with the exception of a few. Mercedes Ceramic clear is very hard but nice to work with. The car was compounded with Meguiars Finishing discs and HD Cut, then polished with a green buff and shine and HD Polish. All work was done with a Rupes 21
Hey Justin! IDK it was close, this car was in pretty tough shape but I think the difference was more dramatic on yours. They both turned out great though so its hard to compare.
P.S. After viewing the write up your grille, emblem delete and black turn signals inspired my client to do the same!

Any tricks/tips for the window scraper trims on these cars? Most of the older cars I've seen turn from the factory black to a pretty obvious PURPLE color over time.....
Really stands out on an otherwise immaculate car.

If you guys would like a referral for a good detailer in your area let me know. I know a ton of great guys throughout who do similar work. This particular detail cost $1,300 total for the paint correction work and CQuartz Finest coating.
For purpling of the trim the best protection against that would be a proper sealant or coating. Most likely it is fading due to UV exposure which can help be prevented by keeping it properly sealed or getting a good coating like CQuartz Finest or opti coat.
Thanks guys!

This was a 45 hour total Paint Correction 3 step. No before pics but quite close to TimDB's job. It appears he did a great job and congrats. Not everyone can achieve what he did. I will say the Cerami Coat Mercs and BMW's use is pretty tough. Like working with them though. Just a pic of what WHITE cars can really look like. Most don't and most people are not aware of what they can be. Hardest to make shine of them all.
Take a look at the attachment, just wanted to give an example

Sorry Buddy, was not correcting you, or discrediting what you were saying. Just pointing out one I did that was similar to the OP's and the hours that took compared to what you said. Apologize for the misunderstanding especially with me begin new on here.
