One does not eat "doughnuts" in a Bentley my good man. Save your deep-fried confections for the interior of a pedestrian mode of travel, such as a 1978 Trans-Am or an E39 M5.

AMS got about the same results

Congrats OP my cousin just purchased a 2012 last week as his new daily driver really nice car.

I remember seeing a video of a modded Bentley vs a pulley/tune E55 and it wasn't even fair.

The E55 blew the Bentley away..
I drove my cousins last week it has a tune and he said it has 600hp. My E55 with crank pulley and tune felt a lot quicker. I was also curious about the weight so I checked the door jam and it said 6300lbs that's very heavy for a coupe I was really surprised, it makes our boats seem light lol.

That's what I'm saying; figure the Bentley with 600HP/700TQ modded vs a pulley/tuned E55, the weight difference is over 2000lbs. Even making more power, the E55 would be letting off by the time the Bentley would catch up. Say, 0-130 run.

I wonder how a 60mph roll outcome would be, likely a lot closer as weight has less to do with the outcome.
OP, test it out with a fellow modded E55 owner.

you realize the door jam does not tell you the curb weight of the car right?

fellas, for ****s sake, the curb weight on a conti Gt is about 5,200lbs.

The gross vehicle weight is on the door jam

1200lbs is still A LOT!

That's like comparing the E55 weight to a much smaller car! (4100 vs 2800-3000)

If you need a bentley specific part, your options are somewhat limited and it can take a while to get.
You would be suprised, I work for an Audi Porsche dealer and there are at least 10 Continentals and Flying Spurs that we service. As mentioned a majority of the running gear, sans turbos, are from a previous Gen A8. Even down to a good portion of the air suspension components.

Regarding tunning, my neighbor had a flash, exhaust, intercoolers and IIRC he dynoed near 680. That car literally jogged away from my flashed S6 at the time from a roll

I don't disagree with what you're saying. My point is simply that if you need a bentley specific part, of which there are quite a few, you are going to be in for a good wait, a high price, or both.

Looking at the engine bay also doesn't make me think DIY given how smooshed it is in there.

Doesn't the door jam state the gross vehicle weight, not the actual curb weight? Some E55s are up around 4400 lbs. so your 1,200 lb statement is not exactly true.

I don't really think people buy Bently for performance or race so doesn't really matter how up against a E55.

Regardless of the reason why you purchased a car, its nice to know if you drop 2 gears you can smash by traffic at 130.

Still love the lip spoiler on your old E.

Not a fan of the Bentley, though. Their styling does nothing for me.

Lol. Typhoon43 is clearly delusional and has probably never driven the amazingness that is the E39 M5. Then again, on a Benz/AMG forum, one should expect that 90% of the members have no clue about handling/driving hard outside of a straight line

Enjoy the Bentley! I have a 2012 SuperSports and absolutely love it... I haven't done any mods to it though... I have my E55 for that...
