Power Folding Mirror Switch Part Number?
Hi Everyone,
I'm hoping I can get some help with this one. I'm trying to do the power folding mirror conversion on my 2008 E63. I have the mirrors but can't seem to find the right part number for the switch. I've searched the various threads and the actual part number for the switch is elusive and I can't find it. The one thread I found that seemed to suggest the part number, resulted in Parts.com sending me a standard mirror switch that does not allow folding.
I am in the US (i.e. left side driver).
Can anyone that has done the mod provide me with the proper part number or better yet, someone that had the option somewhere in the rest of the world with left hand drive, provide me with the VIN so I can give it to Parts.com so they can track the right part down for me?
Any help is very much appreciated! Thank you!

2118208510 ... for some reason cannot find it on MB parts .. probably has replacement part number. There are quite a number of these on Ebay in Germany

I have a black interior. The switch is black.
Thanks for the part number turbo97se. To avoid any problems, I would definitely appreciate a VIN of a car that had this feature OEM. Please email me directly if you're hesitant on posting your VIN all over the internet. It would be used purely as a reference in getting the right switch, if the above part number does not work out. Thanks!

These are incorrect. They are not for power folding mirrors.
You have "2" options:
with chrome frame around the arrows bottom, #" "211 821 57 79",
Attachment 281879
with-out chrome frame #: "211 821 53 79"....
Attachment 281880

I am not 100% sure but I don't think cars in North America had this option. If you PM me your VIN, I can look it up on EPC for you and it will show all options for your car. I can get you part numbers that way.

These appear to be the correct part numbers:
2118216179
2118217579
2118208510
The ones you quoted below (except the last one) are incorrect. There is a difference between power mirror switch and Power FOLDING mirror switch. The ones you quoted above are Power mirror switch and does not have the folding button. Take a look at the switch below and compare to the pics of the switches you posted above.

Thanks for everyone's help on this, it is much appreciated.
Turbo97se, you are correct, this was not an available option on US cars. I am trying to retrofit my car with this function, based on prior owner threads indicating it is possible. The picture you has linked is what I need, provided that is for left hand drive?
Of the three part numbers you have provided, which is the right one for me? Thanks so much!

They are all left hand drive only. They are all valid. You can find them on Ebay. The part numbers I quoted have the chrome trim. If you want black trim, I can look that up also

ARGH! Parts.com is insisting that I provide a VIN because they shipped a wrong part once already (standard mirror switch).
If anyone has the power folding mirror option standard on their car, could you PLEASE email me your VIN? Thanks.

Or message me through the forum.
I would be forever grateful. Thanks so much!

You can make an inquiry to both parts.com and mymercedesparts.com to see if they can get you the part first. If not then you are stuck with buying from Ebay. They don't always need a VIN

If you don't mind, where did you find the actual folding mirrors? I love the feature on my buddy's M5 but have only seen one set go recently here and I missed them by hours

Here's what I got from Parts.com:
"part number 211-820-85-10 changes to 211-821-61-79-7C45. the price is $183.75, and I would have to order it.
That switch is for folding mirrors, but not for the E63. It fits other 211 chassis.
There's 5 different options for the E63, I would need the VIN to determine the correct one"
At that price I told them to hold off. Can someone just confirm that any of those part numbers will work with E63? If so, I'm going to just look in Ebay.
I don't see why that switch wouldn't work across all the W211 models but whatever the case...I think I will look on Ebay.
Thanks!

Get the switch from oediscountparts.com , it retails for $125 > 93.75 shipped after discount. Just punch in 21182161797C45 and it will come up. And yes it will work on your E63 100% .

I'm assuming that is the STAR Diagnostics hook-up so you can get into the various menus?
Not yet, but thankfully, there is a thread that details the menu and sub-menus to get to turn in that option.
If there something more...ARGH...I'm not prepared for it?

Just three menus .. it is a bit of a pain since you have to go to different modules but not too bad. I can't even remember where they are all located ...
One is Cluster, one is drivers door SAM (I think), other may be CGW (just going from memory).
