Back at it again

So I have started back at the build of my car. I was hesitant to start another build thread until everything was complete. But I figured why not, might as well post up all the wins and failures.

Most of you saw my last build thread that turned to total BS under my old user name Pas6201. I had to change my user name because my old name got banned due to having advertisement in my signature after setting up the EC DC as our sponsor account. So hey, I went ahead with TTE55

I got my car back about 2 weeks ago. Here are a few pics of it showing up and what I had to get started with.

I already had made plans on which direction I was going as soon as the car got back. And that was to still do the twin turbo build. So I started ordering some parts to get started. The new layout will have the twin turbos in the engine bay

To fit them in the engine bay I needed to move a few things. One of them was the ABS pump. So I had to make brake lines, extend the harness, modify a bracket to hold the ABS pump in the location.

Extending the harness wasnt too bad. Just time consuming. After finishing wrapping it in marine heat shrink to protect all the connections I was ready to install in its new location. Fit perfectly behind the front bumper on the passenger side where the oil cooler was. I tossed the factory oil cooler and have a nice 15 row aftermarket oil cooler that is more efficient and will be mounted in front of the upper radiator. The bumper fits fine. You cant even tell it is behind there. Brake lines took a little longer to run, but hey worth it in my book.

Looks like we got some room now

So next it was time to start on the turbo headers. I decided to make them more like turbo manifolds or log style is what I am use to calling it so that lag wouldnt be too bad. I had the flange brackets made. You can see the difference in size over stock.

It took a week for the flanges to get cut because my machinest was a little backed up. Once I got the flanges in it was time to start on fabricating my turbo manifold.

Me doing some welding lol!

After completed I used high temp paint, heat wrapped, and then high temp silicone spray to keep heat down.

Driver side done. Passenger side will be done Monday.

Waiting on some other parts to come in. Having a custom intake manifold fabricated next week to work with my set up. Fuel rail is in, injectors and more parts come in next week also. I will keep the thread updated with lots of pics every few days. The build is being completed in house so it will be easier to keep things moving along. My goal is to have it finished in June. I will be working my but off to get it done.

You welded the manifold without bolting it down? Hopefully, there will be less drama with this build .. .good luck

I just tacked it up unbolted. The flange is 3/8" thick stainless so I wasn't worried about it warping during mock up.
The car is being worked on by me. So hopefully no drama lol.

Seems like a HUGE undertaking, kudos to you. There is no way on God's green earth that I would attempt such a feat. I admire anyone with the time, energy and money to do it though. Best of luck and I look forward to seeing and hearing more about it.
Do you have a timeframe? Seems you have made a lot of progress.

The Dynasty is down and I am not waiting around. And I knew the initial set was all going to all be heat wrapped so I wasnt worried. I am acutally going to make a second set of manifolds that will be tig welded and not wrapped. They will be made to look all pretty when I show if off . For now I am fabricating, testing and getting it together to be ready for tuning.
