i'll find out next week but I'm not even sure i want to keep it after its been damaged. Are they gonna give me a used parts for the repair? I've heard Mercury is fair with claims.

That's a better question for insurance no? FWIW, unless there's some serious non-visible damage to the frame etc. then it seems to be mostly cosmetic. That back wheel looks a bit suspect though, but I can't really tell if it's my eyes playing tricks on me.

Just thought something of a list of whats visible might be in order. Not sure if I covered all of it. but here is a list. Likely won't be totaled unless value of repair starts to hit 25% or more. But less damage in cars has shown to be more expensive sometimes.
Front end--
1. bumper cover plus possible drivers side bumper inside
2. new lip
3. Drivers Headlamp bracket + light fixture
4. bumper mouldings + chrome strips
5. ? Airmatic Controller is right in that drivers side bumper pocket, if damaged then that can get real expensive
6. Drivers Fog light
7. Bumper grille center and driver side
8. driver quarter panel - could be a new one, but they can repair it also
Rear--
1. Rear Door Moulding ( they can fix the door likely)
2. Rear Quarter (they will fix)
3. Rear Wheel + Tire likley
4. Big ? Rear axle and whatever is likely damaged in that area
5. Anything underneath

That will be more than 12k, and I think you can always ask for new OEM parts, just be sure to look over the adjuster list of replace and repair. Hope it all works out to your favor tho.

OUCH. Hope everyone was alright. Never like to see and amg in a wreck. I completely get where ur coming from about getting it totaled out. In texas we can take our cars to any shop we like. That usually means dealer. ...hope they write a high enough estimate. Then comes the fight with insurance to pay you right. There was a good thread on here about that as well.

Chances are I won't keep it regardless of if it's totaled or not.
I have the EC tune with the handheld and would like to put it back to factory before it's gone, can I use the tune for my next car? I'm either getting another 211 e63(this time a 2009 with the MCT), Clk BS or possibly a 212 63.

get rid of it man, that's going to be 15-20k in damage in the low end. Sucks, but look at the bright side, you get a new car and it wasn't ur fault... don't let your insurance company fix it, find your own shops get your own quotes. Take it straight to the dealer.. lol hello 30K in repairs lol

i'm taking it to Pride Auto Body which is the shop of choice for the local Benz dealer, i'm sure the estimate will come in pretty high. I am going to insist they use all new parts. My plans are to get a 08 Black Series and maybe an 04-05 55 for daily/nightly driving. So yes I'm bummed but something good always comes from something bad.

Any leaking fluids from the engine bay area? Some ins companies will total just for that.
That rear looks like possible frame/chassis damage, too. Personally, I wouldn't keep the car after that...it'll never drive or feel the same.
Good luck with whatever you decide. Get a C63.

Who was at fault? Is that persons insurance paying for the repairs? If you're claiming on your own insurance you can forget about any DV claims or demands for new parts. Your policy almost certainly has verbaige regarding that. If its a third party claim then you have a leg to stand on.

That doesn't look too bad honestly. But the rear does look off. I hit a curb in mine and bent the hell out of the tie rod. I didn't have any body damage but the driver side strut and rear shock with 2 new wheels brought my total to about 5K and that was without body damage. I hope it works out for you. Maybe you can get the wheel refinished?
Glad no one was hurt. Now on to get the insurance company to replace your parts and get her back on the road.
