Back on topic for you

Jack up the car and remove the underside bumper plastic. Couple of 10mm bolts hold it on. The the IC pump is just behind the pas side foglight. Crank the car and you can feel it by hand or get a volt tester.

Roger that. I'll read out the plug to make sure it's getting 12v and try applying 12v to the motor directly. Not sure if I'll get to it today, but I might. I will report back when test is complete.

Is this with your original pump or your new Bosch 010 pump? Either way, check using VOM multimeter to see if you're getting a proper current to the pump. You can also feel if the pump is working by placing your hand on it.

I have an '05 and I expect I will find an original pump under there - which I think will be the 003 version. Sound right for an '05?

Bosch 003 was the original intercooler pump in the E55. I believe that there was maybe one more iteration after that, until they finally released the Bosch 010, which is the latest and most reliable version.

If you're checking your current, original pump and you get voltage going to it and the pump isn't working, I think you've solved your mystery to the high IATs. If you're going to the trouble to checking all of this, including bleeding, I would just pre-emptively change out to the Bosch 010. If you still have a Bosch 003, it will eventually go out, if it hasn't already, as the failure rates on them are very high.

Good luck with the repair and let us know what you find out.

Better get a new Bosch 010 pump ordered. Autohuasaz.com sells them as well for around $97 shipped.
