Don't be too sure...

It'd be funny if we all later find out the M5 thrashes the E55 around, in both a straight line and around the twisties. I'd be referring to that post back over and over again.

Oh yeah, as for the idea of an E65 AMG.... for the price they'd be asking for one of those... you get where I'm going.

If you all like torque so much and think it´s the mother of acceration. Why don´t you buy a truck? Lots of torque and great komfort.

Personally. I go with power+low weight and smoke any one of you with just 180Nm (dont know what that is in ft-lb).

Though the new 5 looks pretty weeny in 525/530 trim, I am astounded by what a nice set of rims and a dark paint color do for the car. The 545i looks pretty good in black.

The interior is pretty sucky though, the 3 series, as old as it is, is more appealing. The E is miles ahead aesthetically interior and exterior.

As for power, I don't care how much it has, V-10's sound like vacuum cleaners.

V10s also sound like the Carrera GT and F1 cars...

The new 5 series' headlights bother me most and I totally agree about the sucky interior. Replacing useful buttons with useless wood pieces and cheap plastic.

For a sportscar I would not mind a high reving engine but for a sedan low end torque is my preference. The noise, harshness and vibration associated with a high reving engine spoil the luxury and comfort of a sedan.

In the E55k, I can pass most cars without going pass 4,000 rpm and without the transmission having to downshift. Now that's civility!

If you BMW lovers like high revving V10's so much, why don't you buy an F1 car?

I like to be Montoya while I drive like a maniac on public roads thinking I'm in an F1 car while really I'm in a 4 door saloon with wife and kids. Who's the crazy one?

And if you care about track ability so much, why don't you track your M5's? Oh I forgot, the warranty expires!

I'm sure the difference between a production V10 that turns 6500RPMS and an F1 that spins up to 19K is unremarkable.

99ML, the CGT sounds exactly like an F1 car. The stupid thing is, Porsche don't really race in F1, but their car sounds exactly like one!

As for the new M5, it probably won't sound like an F1 car, more like the Gallardo at best.

At least cars like the SLR and AMG's can warn you of their presence a mile away with that deep V8 burble. Subtle but effective.
