chirp between 1,2 and third gear

vechile makes chirp/squeal when shifting at low rpm. dealer says this is the clutch engaging on the kompressor. also says it occurs on sl-55 and s-55. says there is no fix for the problem. has anyone heard of a solution?

My "chirp" during clutch engagement is so bad that I wish i bought something else!! My dealer claims there is no fix.

I think it's cool. Reminds you there is really a blower under there!

(Of course, pressing down with the right foot is another reminder as well)

Just curious ...

Do the Renntech and Kleeman superchargers chirp too? Or is it just the Lysholm?

I don't think the Kleeman one would. I dont believe it uses an electronic clutch. You sould not hear it chirp when it gives boost because the blower would always be turning. The bypass valve enables the blower to use just about no horsepower when the engine is under vacuum. I don't understand why Mercedes uses the electronic clutch but then again there are many design and engineering aspects I have questioned over the years with Mercedes. They have never been one to manufacture a part that has one piece when they can do it with two.
