parts.com - crazy experience

I've tried 2x now to purchase front rotors from their site - once in November 2013 and May 2014 (the website is horribly redesigned as well) - and both times they've stated the following:

The part number chosen from the website catalog is no longer available and has been replaced by P/N 221421181207 which will cost $129.00ea. This is an increase of $47.00ea. We are able to make the change but need your permission to do so. The order will be put on hold until we hear from you.
back in November when I said the price was ok, then they came back and said -oh wait, we have to charge more for shipping...

so what's the deal - I thought Parts.com was a reputable site? it seems they're doing the bait-n-switch as they won't change the original price of $82 for front rotors... /rant off

OE rotors cost that much. Why not just drive to MB and get them?

called it!

Due to the weight of the parts requested there will be a shipping charge of 80.00. Please let me know how to proceed

Try MyMercedesParts.com, they are cheaper than Parts.com when you factor in shipping cost.

Just a tip...pretty much anyone can go to a dealer, say they work for X other dealer in town and get some sort of wholesale price. I do it all the time.

Usually they ask for shop account numbers.

they raised the price on me as well $128/ea plus $60 shipped = $360

LOL - my dealership knows me too well, but should try a different one... still $119/ea though - so ~$261 including tax (probably cheapest route)

I ended up ordering from BrakePerformance.com with the zinc coated, black hat, cross drilled - used a code MEDIA31 to get $5 off - came to $271 shipped

I've read that they're centric based rotors, but Centric makes so many models - they carve out the niche of what many like

How did you like their rotors or are they just oem rotors? Planning on ordering a pair from them too. Did you get pads too?
