Pilot alpin installed today

having mich pilot alpins installed today.

never drove with dedicated winter tires, this will be interesting.

ordered from Luke at the tirerack, and the tires were delivered the next day.

I'm going with a staggered set up (using the factory amg 18inch rims), 245/265. obviously not ideal, but this was a good balance between looks and function.

we are supposed to get a little snow over night so I see how they do on the drive in tomorrow.

I installed Pilot Alpins on my 98 E430 and it did not snow that year. However, I found the tire comfortable and not noisey. I was in no hurry to remove them when spring summer came. You will barely notice them and that is a good thing.

im sure youll be just fine with the staggered setup. ive seen M5's, M3's around in the winter with staggered setup that got around fine. theyre pilot alpins afterall so traction will be there. winter tires definetly make a HUGE difference. i think youll be surprised.
