Angry Warranty Company - Pre-Existing Issue

Hey guys, so I bought an E55 back at the end of last year and got the Premium coverage which stated that was exclusive not inclusive, meaning that it covers everything unless it's specifically listed in the exclusions. Anyways... my dynamic seats stopped working and I figured it was because of the pump but the real cause I guess would be the failing relays in the seats which click every few seconds. I'm sure you guys are familiar with that. Now the warranty company says they'll cover the pump but not the relays because they're saying the issue with the relays was "pre-existing". How do I go and argue about that. How could they know if it was pre-existing. Same thing with the engine/transmission mounts. Seems like they've gotten completely or almost completely torn as I can feel the engine jumping a little when changing from reverse to drive and backward. They said that issue was pre-existing as well. Any advice?

P.S. I've had the warranty for 3 months now and about 2.5k miles.

Thanks!

Most warranty companies require a full-inspection of the vehicle BEFORE they will write the policy. That is where they are supposed to discover any pre-existing issues.

I will say that making a claim in the first 90 days of a new warranty can be a huge red-flag for some warranty companies though.... especially if it's for big-ticket repair items.

General consensus is to let a bit more time elapse before making big claims against a new policy.... they'll probably scrutinize EVERYTHING you try to claim from now on.

Yeah I figured that after I made the claim. I'm thinking of ditching them and possibly going with another company and waiting a little while.. or altogether staying "warranty-less". I was hoping that they'd fix the mounts at least but looks like I'm on my own there..

Greg, I didn't get an inspection and have no problems with claims, and same with my GF's 550ML.

How can the warranty company claim "pre-existing"? What proof do they have? Warranty companies will say ANYTHING they can to get out of a claim.

Just TODAY on the ML550, they told us that the rear tail lights are not covered because the bulbs are out (LED's) and they don't cover bulbs. They just covered 1 side 2 weeks ago (went out again) and we are back for the same thing!!! I asked them if the bulb can be replaced, but it is only sold as a complete light panel, how do I do that? They are covering it.

Bottom line, sometimes you have to talk to them. Just be honest and fair.
