need advice from the experts
I have been in love with AMGs since I was a kid and now I feel like I can afford one. I have decided to go with 05/06 E55 and not 07 E63 mostly because of reliability concerns with E63s with higher miles and everyone is telling me that the tranny and the motor in E55s is bulletproof.
So, here are the two cars I found and I am trying to decide between the two. any advice is appreciated:

What do you guys recommend and Why?
Really appreciate all your help.

The second one was removed from an auction in 2010.. Why is this car in auction in 2010 and up for sale now? I would do as much research on the VINs as possible, and have any car you may purchase inspected, preferably by a good Indy or MB dealer. (They need to hook up to STAR Diag to get the scoop on the car.. good info in that contraption)
Car Fax and the like are total BS.. don't trust that. Trust eyes - and eyes attached to someone who knows what they are looking at.
And here is the deal: This is a $100K car for $20K. Repairs do not know about depreciation, so understand things cost a LOT when they go bad.
A good E55 is solid as can be and can be completely trouble free. A bad one would be the worst nightmare. Take your time, get inspections done, and find a cream-puff You will never get enough information in an ad.
Oh, and you can find some amazing cars on the forums.. I'm sure this has $10K-15K in quality mods... and a history you can research, right here.. from the owner.

I personally think that the flint grey car is much nicer. It has more options as well. Parktronic, heated and ventilated seats, keyless go. The chrome wheels, and the hideous grill on the black car are huge turn off to me.
The actual maintenance history would be quite important though. I would thoroughly inspect the vehicles for rust, and any paint work that has been performed.

The first car looks to have been modded from the tinted tails, grill, shifter surround ect so I would stay away from that one.
The second one does look much nicer but is the same price with 10k more miles which is a bit much for a e55. I personally don't care for the regular wood trim.
Take your time and figure out exactly what you want and wait for one to pop up in your area. It took me 8 months to find mine. Don't compromise because after the new car excitement wears off you'll be kicking yourself for it.
