CPS down for the count :(

well after 25,000 trouble free miles and after changing my oil and spark plugs
on my way home stop for gas go to start the car and it just cranks but does not turn over finally does and I get a CEL and it p0335 (crankshaft position sensor A circuit malfunction confirmed) is what the scanner read so I pick up a after market one they had at autozone and got me a 10' socket extension to reach the damn thing. I guess after 2 1/2 years of S florida heat killed it. wish me luck !

Just did mine a few months ago. As long as you have the reverse torx bit you'll be ok man.

I was able to get to mine with a 10" and some odd maneuvering...i would think that will work better as long as you don't hit anything with the handle...

How was the install? Pretty straightforward by going thru the ds fender wall ? I need to do it on my car next few weekends.

I'd pull the rear battery cable for a least ten or so minutes to clear it. Or run to local auto zone and borrow their obdii to clear the codes

Took about 1 1/2- 2 hours, more time to let the car cool down. A lot of blind touching and feeling and a frankinstein ratchet set up lmao real pain in the A $ $ to be honest

Tools used. red box is aftermarket cps got at advanced auto parts

you were right ! the *****ty advance auto parts one died on me
I would have gotten the OEM one but needed one asap and Stealer was closed.
The question I have, do you think the bosch one would work being they make a ton of stuff for mercedes and probably the CPS MB probably just makes them put the logo and part # on there

Funny that this thread popped up...after I went through this. :-/

Nobody had a Bosche unit in stock so I gave in to the aftermarket brand. The car stuttered several times and actually died 3 times on the freeway while driving before I could get the Bosche unit...all within a few days of installing the new sensor!

DO NOT USE AFTERMARKET!!!

sucks big time ! I will take the Taiwan crap back and get my 50 bucks back. hope you dont have to experience this. car just loses all power and u have to coast to the nearest safe spot all because a little sensor. I will do it again not giving the stealer 450 for a 50 dollar part with one bolt to be installed F N crooks !!!

Autozone can order the Bosche one for about $20 more than their generic. And yes, our OEM sensors are Bosche parts.

I had purchased an after-market one as well but then my mechanic suggested I stick with trusted brand -so I did.

Mine is "Hella" .

I went with aftermarket one as well because dealer was closed lol
