Need Help Diagnosing
Two weeks ago my car started to misfire slightly at idle. I stopped driving the car for a week, then took it out for fuel and to drive to my place of business to get some work done (plugs etc) Car dies on the side of the road, I call one of my employees to come with the service truck and the booster pack. Hook it up, turn the pack on, 7.8V. Get it up 11.9 for a few minutes, turn the key the car cranks but wont start. Tried this a few times, until battery is completely dead. Tow the car back to my house. Check the fuses, all good. Check the relay for the fuel pump, fine, replaced anyway because of some minor corrosion. Replaced both batteries. Car still cranks but wont start, leaving me to believe the problem is not the alternator. Borrow a buddies scanner, no fault codes (no CEL). What is the problem? Ignition coils? Coil pack? (do we even have that?) Crank Position Sensor? I really don't want to hear the car jumped timing. If anyone has some expert advice, I'm all ears.

Probably crank position sensor. Just got mine done for peace of mind. Going on a road trip and def don't want to get stranded. Check a Few posts down.

Try to start it again and try to get a code..also does it start after about 20 min and then die again after a bit of driving, it would be the cps but it would give a code like mine did...

it wont start at all, just cranks

unfortunately I can not. I made an attempt to verify spark the old school way with a wire from cyl. 5, nothing happened.
