E55 VS ISF

finally picked up my e55, im in love with this car. never been in anything with this much power. i will post pics when i clean it.

One of my friends with a 08 IS-F wants to race, he has a stock ISF, the dude cant drive i already know. he wants to race from a light up to 100 or so, so my question to you guys is.

have any of you ever raced an ISF and how would a stock E55 keep up with it, my car feels pretty healthy BTW. and what settings should i have on, air matic, transmission, and traction control.

Not even a contest. You should beat him in a drag race easily. I've done many times.

This place is a joke.
Just make sure your intercooler pump is working, if in doubt replace it it's only $110

Stock vs stock...make sure to mount your camera backwards and aim it about 10 car lengths back!

Take a vid of this, please. A friend of mine used to have one with full exhaust, but we never had a chance to line up. He constantly talks smack.

so what settings should i have it in? guys today i pressed the button on the dash that turns off traction control, i put my foot on the brake and revd it up to 2500 and i let go of the brake, it jumped for just 1 second then it was slow, i think thats the IC pump. or maybe i reved it too high idk, i have done many pulls with it already and that was the only time it did it.

Rbj, that's one healthy IS-F to stay within several car lengths like that!

Don't press anything and leave the trans in D sport. Just wait for the go and stomp on it...the car will take care of itself.

Do what ever you want, sleep during the race if you want, just make sure you have your steering wheel straight (or pointing to where you're going) and the throttle fully open. Traction control on, traction control off, no engine haha you'd still beat him. They're not in the same league.

It's a heavier car with 150 less HP, you'll eat him alive.

It's a lighter car with 150 less horsepower... and much lighter too. They weigh in around ~3800lbs and E55 can be ~4200lbs depending on options.

You already saw what happen when I raced your friend. You don't have anything to worry about, other than keeping her on a straight line.

There's one of the new model ISFs rolling around my neighborhood with an older gentleman driving it. I'm aching to bust him up!

The newest body-style? The IS F-Sport? That's only an option package on either the IS250 or IS350. The newer bodystyle doesn't have an actual IS-F model yet with a performance motor.

I actually love the taillights on the new IS. The way they taper to a point to meet the body line coming up from the sideskirt is pretty cool.

Just read up on it...sounds like the new model ISF will have a 5.0L V8 making 416HP/371TQ. Bring it!

That would've been a good race with my previous E39 M5.

Those are the specs for the current model; the one discussed in this thread. They haven't announced the next ISF yet, but the upcoming RCF sports 450hp/383tq, so I'd expect the new ISF to use the same motor.

Yes it is. The E55 is a friend of mine. It was also on E85. There's a lot of street racing down here and you will come across some that will shock the **** out of you.

Those are some very disappointing numbers compared to what the M / AMG are putting out these days.

The new M4 is 425/406. The RCF puts out 25 more peak hp, but 23 less torque. That's not too disappointing?

The C63 trumps both of them, but not by much.

The ISF is a low 13 car.

No contest. I blew the doors off an ISF a few months ago, let the guy have a jump - it was a joke.
