Talking Removing the silver trim from the moldings

Ok I searched and saw a few threads about it but it didn't help me, it looks like they are going to break right off, if so can you buy just the silver/chrome trim pieces? Or do you need to buy the complete molding? I found the part# A2118801112

but it won't come up on parts.com so I'm not sure if thats the molding and trim or just the trim.

I'm re spraying my bumper and want to remove this trim before.

Thanks for the help

The part number you put up is the entire cover plastic piece with the chrome trim. You can remove the chrome trim and paint the plastic and that chrome piece if you want. The chrome strip is simple clipped on that bumper cover filler part.

Yea I know its the whole molding I was seeing if there was a part# for just the trim piece cause I just wanted to break them off lol and by new ones. But I was able to remove the trim on one side which took like 30 mins, they arent simple to remove since the trim pieces are brittle but I'm able to take them off though.

Understood, unfortunately they do not sell it like that. They will sell you a whole new part since not all of those trims come with the chrome trim. Looks like when ordered it will be painted to your car for like $130 wholesale.

My body guy popped them off with a trim removal tool with out breakage. Don't seem expensive though... just buy new.

I am fixing to re-spray both front and rear bumpers on my e63 black. I did notice when doing a paint correction that someone previously had run a buffer over over the chrome trim and obviously put light scratches in it. Either I want to replace them all, or maybe paint them all black. If anyone knows someone who has blacked out all trim, vinyl or paint, please ask them to post pics of that.

Honda Metropolitan
Natbeast e55 with Brada wheels painted his chromed black. They are plastic so extra care is needed when removing them.
