I think I am in the minority on this one. I actually really enjoy the oem setup. I like the ability, with the push of button, to increase ride height and have different suspension settings. I hate the fact that I have replaced ALL 4 of the airbags (with Arnotts) and the cost of that replacement. But, I do like the oem suspension set up. Is there a coil kit that allows me with push of a button to make suspension changes and adjust ride height like oem? If there is, then you have my attention.

I have to do this ASAP. I'm getting sick and tired of the Airmatic, how can a suspension setup be so boaty and yet still really uncomfortable. I rode in an STi with Tein coilovers once and it was way more comfortable than stupid Airmatic. It was way sitffer but had way better dampening, it didn't feel like it was breaking and trust me my Airmatic isn't failing, it's been like that ever since I bought it. I had to do a service for the 2 front struts at 50,000 miles. These BC Coilovers are so damn cheap they cost next to nothing. If these things are this good I wonder what KW Coilovers would be like?!!?

My drivers side rear just kicked the bucket....now what replace both rears with Arnotts or do a coilover swap ??? (ughhh)....I have never liked the ride of the suspension (thought it should be much more compliant), but like jcjmw said, I really like the ability to raise the car for steep driveways, etc.

Definitely worth it if you don't want airmatic. Only gripe I have is the rear ride height adjustment but you could modify your tools to make it work.

I think I saw bilsteins on german ebay..... may have been for the cls55..... dont think it matters but.

The Bilsteins would be the **** I reckon. probably twice as much as the BC's though.

Personally I reckon theres nothing wrong with airmatic once you get all the Arnott bits and realign the car with crash bolts (Remove a bit of castor). Will probably not handle like an m5 but its not bad at all. Most of the issue with these things is the ridiculous stock wheel alignment I suspect.

I ran them on my M3 and really had no issues with them... that was only after chatting with a gentleman who owned an E39M5 on Bimmerforums that ran them for 2 years in NY(daily driven M5)...

If they didn't have such ****ty customer service, I'd be all over them again. ISC is located in NH

I have ran Eibachs on other vehicles and installed them on two other friend's cars. Great product however the quality of the "race springs" leaves something to be desired. The amount of sag in the first year is terrible and uneven IMO though they tend to remain pretty stable after that initial sag. However I do not believe their advertised rates and actual rates are as accurate as say the Hypercoils or Swift branded springs.

Hey Bramage, any long-term thoughts about the BC kit? Thought I saw somewhere you replaced them with the KW kit.

I love my BC coilovers. Night and day difference from where the car was stock.

Do the self adjusting and auto leveling headlights feature still work if switching to coil overs?

I should do my own review soon. I think OP must have had some worn out struts I am betting. Its not such a huge difference in handling. I wouldn't say it is smoother at all over stock in comfort mode. It feels near stock though. Less body roll but nothing crazy. I DRIVE my car and drive it hard daily. I go up and down a 1500 foot mountain full of hairpins and fast elevation changes. I was very used to the stock setup and was very impressed with it in sport 2 mode over all. When it was working I should say. Less body roll is all I can really say. 2/3 firm settings on all four corners. Its not like the car feels like a Porsche or something. On my old GTO I went from stock worn out suspension to the BC coilovers and sway bars and yes that was actually a night and day difference.

Best thing about the BC coilovers is they dont fail and leave you stranded or worse. That alone makes them awesome =)
