SDARS Question on adding Sirius to E55 AMG
After performing several searches for adding Sirius to my 05 E55 AMG I'm somewhat confused on what model SDAR I need to purchase/find. I've been looking on EBay for a SDAR and the listings say good for 06-08 (see below). I would REALLY like to get Sirius installed in my car because I hate changing radio stations when the next 15 minutes of commercials comes on. Any help would be appreciated.

I thought I have read that 05's were prewired and all I needed was a SDAR module and once connected everything (after I call Sirius to subscribe) would work without any coded needed by DAS.

you are correct about most of cars being prewired for SDAR.
Since the ICE in E55 is fiber optic when you add a module to the car you have to recode the optical ring which is done via DAS
