Either should work. I believe you also will need to order the door switch for them as well.

These are cheap Taiwanese knockoffs. They look pretty good but the motors can give issues after a while. The first post ones are 03-06 for E55 the second post ones look like E63 (Face-lift) mirrors that would require some modification on your door (drilling holes and adding fender washers) to make them fit. It's a pain, but I think it is worth it. I prefer the newer style mirrors myself.

just did the search and found it...thanks...to avoid a hassle in modifying anything and leading to future problems, i might just stick with the first option.
