Hello all,

I have a 2006 E55 and I am loving it. however, like everyone else, I am used to the power and want more now.

Can you suggest what upgrades to perform, in order and their benefits? like Heat Exchanger, Pulley, Intake etc...

Thank you very much,

I want to have a plan and hit it in order but I dont know where to start?

Maintenance, followed by heat exchanger, intercooler pump, intercooler isolation, supercharger pulley, tune, LSD, tcu tune, headers. There you go! Or at least this is what I would do.

What do you guys think about fabtech V2 heat exchanger?

http://www.fabtech-performance.com/#...heat-exchanger

it says it is plug and play. also, which IC Pump do you recommend?

do yourself a favor....block fabtech from your browser....they are the worst in service, so called "engineered" parts, and also turn around time...took 2 months to receive my HE which they claimed was a no fabrication piece but wasnt....had to cut my bumper....stick with Eurocharged.

Before modding do a compression test and make sure it's healthy, invest in a good data logging system, it will find any problems and tuners love to tune cars with a good logging system

I like the look of the BIP one and the eurocharged one but I have only ever personally used a PLM which was ok, quality was good, fitment was not the easiest. Pump- johnson or meziere. Eurocharged and BIP seem to be good outfits with good service. I don't know about many of the others but search on the forum, you will get a very good idea of what they are like to deal with.

This place is a joke.
Fuel filter, Fuel pump if the connector is melted, new intercooler pump (Bosch 010)...New oem style spark plugs and wires if you are at or above 100k miles....all first.

Then Kleemann headers.

Agree with maintenance first. Run through the entire car (or have a local independent MB specialist or dealer) and make a list of what needs to be done to ensure reliability. As mentioned above, pay special attention to your fuel pumps/sender as they should be changed on a 60,000 mile interval or earlier if you see signs of deterioration or fuel pressure trailing off under boost. THEN start with cooling mods before more power is added.

500HP cars are cool. Just not when they are sitting on the flatbed on the way to the shop.

Since you have an '06, the PLM is the only heat exchanger with allowances for the additional cooler below the heat exchanger.

My starting mod sequence would be....
HE & I/C pump
Tune
Headers + re-tune
S/C Pulley + re-tune

I'm running Kleemann headers, NGK IX spark plugs, supercharger pulley, Green Air filters and secondary cay/resonator delete with a tune, and that makes her mighty powerful.

Next plans are to swap the SC pulley for a 175mm crank pulley, then upgrade the heat exchanger. After that, any other mods will need the fuel rail/injector upgrades and I don't really want to do that right now.

I recommend Serge @ BenzWorks to do your upgrades assuming you're in California as he's treated me well and never given me a bum deal. In addition, Jeremy at OETuning is one of the best out there, bar none for ECU tuning. Personal experience IMO, I prefer OETuning over Eurocharged.

That should give you all the comfort power you need without sacrificing much in reliability.

Torque app and a $20 bluetooth ODBII adapter is a nice, cheap option until you can get yourself a Zeitronix wideband setup.
