I've actually never run nitrous, but I understand the allure. Why don't you just do your thing and let others do theirs?

Say what? I'm not stopping anyone from using nitrous, just pointing out the blatantly obvious.. As you did in your 1st sentence.. I posted it to show how Nitrous can overcome ANY disadvantage in original engineering..
And how adding nitrous is far more than an equalizer to a puffer or turbs, it's DA in a bottle dropping any high ambient temps etc to freezing cold below sea level perfection. It negates any/all other modifications period..

I learn something new every day.
So basically NOS is for car world like Steroids are for the Pro bodybuilding.
There is a time when you just need the extra power to become that extra
Thanks for sharing.
I am not sure but I've seen this similar jeep in another video posted here long time ago, it made
it to the final and then lost to a Subaru IIRC. One time the driver accidentally went in reverse lol

Watching that Jeep race makes my palms sweat. I'd much rather be doing 180 on a bike than that monster

I agree with the original poster, but maybe it wasn't worded as well as he would have liked. I am not a fan of nitrous because of the limitations it has in use and how much dangerous it appears to be in running & tuning for it. I also don't want some bottle exploding in my trunk on a 105° day when the temp in my car is way more than that.
Granted I am not as knowledge about it's use to make a truly educated decision on the matter, but my main reason (constant refilling) is why it doesn't appeal to me.

Sure NOS has its limitations but it is FANTASTIC to use/have.I spent countless hours on the Dyno trying to figure out and perfect my systems. My 482 big block chevy made 705 hp N/A and I would hit it with a three stage 450hp Nos system. So now we are talking 1100hp. I ran two bottles in the car and it worked perfect. Boat, motorcycle and all my cars, I always put a custom system on to give me that extra edge. I also kept four bottles allways filled to rotate ....pain in the ***, sure it was but well worth it. In my opinion there is nothing wrong with adding on a "little" insurance to the program!! Good Times !

I'm not a fan of NOS, myself. Too unnatural. If the car can't get there on it's own salt, then the engine needs to be built for it. Besides, I've seen too many horror stories about nitrous claiming the life of an engine. It's a terrible thing.
I'll take convenience and consistency over temporary edges.

Love it - looks like fun. I would dig some NOS for my ride, but I know very little about it except for trashed motor horror stories. I will stick with meth for cooling and a wee bit more power. I know a guy who runs a 100 shot of NOS on his heavily modded C32 AMG successfully for more than 10 years now without any problems - he keeps up with the Lambo's on the breakfast runs.

HeissRod: There is a pressure relief valve that will prevent that from happening. The scary thing is when people heat the bottle up with a flame over and over, weakening the structure. The relief valve just got moved!
I have a question about nitrous "haters".... What difference is it if you put on a blower, turbo, headers, different heads, cam, different ratio rockers, bigger heat exchanger, etc.? You are doing a mod to make more power. Why discriminate?

It removes all fairness to any legit race, unless purely viewed as a ridiculously cool novelty as vid above shows..

Dirt Scooters
Racing isn't meant to be fair. Nitrous guys say the same thing about turbo guys. Pro mod nitrous guys cry about the turbos MPH advantage on the big end and the turbo guys complain about the nitrous guys first 330ft. A N/A guy would say you were cheating with your 12 cylinders and 2 turbos. It's all about preference. Different people take different paths.

From my 2nd post here..
Edify me... How is nitrous fair? When racing another car w/OUT it? Turbs/Puffers don't magically change DA & air temps etc etc to the positive quite the opposite.. W/nitrous, you can simply keep swapping jets adding crazy amounts of hp & even more tq in minutes.. On any car..

With superchargers, you can swap pulleys even to inefficiency levels
With both you can manipulate the blowoff valve to help maintain boost where it should be bleeding it off
