W211 E55 Check Engine Light Help

I was putting on my new CF lip on my E55 today and I had to jack it up. I lifted up the drivers side first and then the other side. When I was done, I drove around and the check engine light came on. The throttle response is great and everything works as it should. No malfunctions show up on the dash and I'm at a stump. I'm going to check the gas cap because right before I installed my lip, I filled it up.

Any suggestions on what it might be?

You should pull the code. You can go to pepboys or the like and buy an OBD II scanner and pull the code. Once you get the code that is causing the cel, then you will better know what the problem is / needed solution.

I wish it was that easy. I'm in CA, so I can't do that.

OP, swing by Benz Works (HB) He can check it for you, or most auto parts stores can either do it, rent the tool, or buy one. You need one with this car

It may be an emissions error. P0456 comes to mind. Good luck!

Thanks!

And I went to Autozone today and was told that they don't check codes anymore. I guess the same thing applies to all major chains as well.

I went on a ride tonight and before I took off, I removed the gas cap, checked it, and sealed it tight. After a couple of minutes of driving, the CEL went off. Hopefully it stays that way.
