You can always check insurance auctions for a hydrolock salvage vehicle. 
lots of heavy rain going on lately. At least in the Chicago area and apparently Las Vegas. Just make sure the water only entered the engine and not the electronics obviously.

I'd be too wary of other damages. The prices are so low on these cars nowadays but the repairs can be costly as you know

I spoke with the insurance company and previous owner to get the back story. The owner blew the engine up (head bolt issue?) and had it bought back by the insurance. Car was never in an accident (I checked autocheck) and he just didn't want to deal with the headache and time to fix it. My cousin might grab it (today maybe), so I might have a project pretty soon. If anything we might just keep it knowing the back story but I'd probably sell it. Still 18k is WAAAAYYY too much for a salvage title. Doesn't your insurance coverage change vs clean title?

Seems like a decent deal depending on damage with a clean title but salvage.... 2010's had the updated head bolts so that wouldn't be the issue. I would assume either a stuck injector or more likely it sucked in water.
