2018 E63s Wagon
should I buy the 2014 or 2015 E63?
So, I have a 2015 E63 on order to be built in the fall... Now I find out that my dealer has just received a new 2014 E63 -- an unexpected shipment that is still at the dock.
The colors and options are near identical (I had come down two color choices -- one I ordered and this one)...
I know there are a couple of changes like the new folding mirrors and they took away to reset button for the rear headrests. Does anyone know of any significant changes to the Distronic or navi or anything that might make a buyer want to wait for the 2015.
There is always the issue of buying "last year's" model and I'll have to try and come up with a $$$ value (discount) for that -- love to hear your 2 cents there too.
Thanks.

I guess it depends if the dealer discount on the 2014 makes it worth your while to not have the latest E63 model/features.

Considering your username has "value" in it. I would bargain on the 2014. I have done some research and these vehicles loose value quickly, as with all high performance niche sedans. There isn't any issue with buying "last years" model. It's an advantage. Let the dealer absorb some of the depreciation, the salesman will get 50% of the front end gross (incentive to sell previous years quicker) and the dealer can get a '14 off the lot and open up a allocation spot for a new 2015 that they can make the money they lost on the '14 up. They will also get a charge back for not being able to sell the '14 before MY '15 comes out.
If the color and minor tweaks really increase the value of the vehicle in your mind. Keep your 2015 E63 order and have a current year car. Just remember, by June of next year...your 2015 will be one year old.
Stretch your dollar, negotiate the price. The worst they can say is no...

A little off topic, but I have bought 2 awesome cars in a row, 3-year old lease cars with low mileage. The last was a 2010 E 63 AMG Sport, with all the bells and whistles. The time before was a Porsche. Both times, right at 60% of list for a very well maintained car. And, I am so hooked on the E63, I may never buy another model car. But WILL get the biturbo, when time is right.
