Hey Guys my name is Sean and I'm from Milwaukee, WI. I just picked up a 2003 E55 with 116k that has been more than cared for. I bought it last Wednesday and just put it on the dyno today. Here are the Mods

82MM Throttle Body
Headers (I believe EvoSport)
Primary Cats deleted
175MM Pulley
Cl55 Intake scoops
Heat Exchange with extra tank
Speeedriven Custom Tune

Best results were 481hp/573ftlbs at the wheels dynos were done in i believe 4th gear.

Here is the dyno:

Id like to get the car to 500whp and know I'm very close. Im very concerned with the IATs and have seen some different setups but whats really the best, reliable route. I've heard the killer chiller works great for recovery times but takes away from the air conditioning, I mean I bought a mercedes for a reason. I would have gotten a cobra if I wanted to make compromises. Also I've seen people with water/meth but what kinda of reliability does this have for me? Where to i get more methanol? how long does it last? Lastly I seen bigger and better Heat Exchangers. Whats the best?

I'm very new to the AMG's as I had a B5S4 Stage 3 and an E36 M3 before. Hopefully someone has some insight.

Sean

Congrats on the purchase and the car sounds strong.

As far as cooling it all really depends. As you can see in my sig I have quite the cooling setup. Killer chiller, trunk tank and meth. The KC will hurt the AC but it's not as bad as people make it out and I live in Alabama. But I don't drive mine everyday just on weekends and such. The KC to me is just better than a larger HE and tank. The KC gives you 55* or so cruising temp all year and the tank helps in recovery. If you are racing the KC and tank of ice is good enough for between runs. IMO.

I added meth to help with my 195 pulley volcano heat to keep my top end good. I gained about 30rwhp or so adding it. You can buy premixed meth from Summit Racing for $40 for 4 gallons or buy the meth in 5g and mix it for less. I just get premixed. It last me about as much as 2mths again limited driving. And depends on how much I a play with the car above 8psi and WOT.

I don't race but I just wanted the best to get all I can out of my car. Daily driving I say KC and a tank.

Welcome and nice, strong car!

What is your end goal? Street racing, 1/4mile drag strip numbers or a dyno slip to show your friends.
Not trying to be an ahole, just different routes for different goals.

I don't particularly have an end goal but assumed with current mods that i should be closer to 500 and not so high on torque. My assumption is that i still have a bottle neck in the exhaust which is why my torque is sow high. Wanted to get to 540whp but i have a ways to go.

Was there ice in your tank? That can affect power, I would add ice and do a pull, you might surprised that you will add 10-20hp

Torque is always higher than HP in these cars...and shooting for 540 at the wheel is pretty high. I think DENROLL is around 525rwhp and he is heavily modified..maybe he will chime in.

HP=(TORQUE X RPM)/5252

Torque and RPM is where it's at.
