Here is a video of me and a friend racing at the local dragstrip at 3100ft elevation in the hot AZ summer. His car is a E55 with a Eurocharged tune, supposedly is a 513hp/570hp. Mine is a bone stock CLS550 with "402 hp" and "443lb-tq" and 4200lbs without me.
The E55 was within 10lbs in the scales so as far is weights we were even, his car(e55) had 20"s though..
I had a C63 before owning the CLS and my CLS is quicker and faster stock, nt by much but like I said, quicker and faster(1 tenth and 2mph). In my opinion the M278 is very underrated, it must be in the neighboorhood of 450hp and no less than 470-480lb-tq. It also has some good rubber(285's) and a great transmission. Torque comes at 1600rpms and boost is on very much all the time that you have the gas on the pedal. Aerodynamically is a marvel, .27cx. When you combine all the aspects you have a winner
Sometime people need to think out of the box. The CLS tested 4.2 sec 0-60 already on a car magazine and it feels every bit of it. These cars with a tune only are a total beast (525hp-610lb-tq), that is with no other hardware like downpipes, meth injection, cams..

My friend and I were running a best of 12.8 but I was trapping 111 vs his 109mph. Remember, his car is the one that suppose to be 512hp/563lb-tq with Eurocharged stage I, I was stock.
His car(Stage I Eurocharged E55) already ran a 12.5@114 in the past with better weather(cold).

The LS2 400hp vette was running low 14's and trapping 105mph(best). This is a very slow track, my friend 10' M-3 (DCT and launch control) runs mid 13's at 105 and he has a full exhaust and air filter

What if an S600 got you? You going to cry then too? Just because it doesn't carry an AMG badge doesn't mean it's slow. If that CLS was tuned there is no way your catching up to him.

One of the closest races I ever had was against a new CLS550 bi-turbo. Very fast car bone stock and not even an AMG.

You need a set of this on the rear, and that will save you alot of embarrasment. Never had any traction issues with it.
