e63 - symptoms of a bad crank vent valve??
Hey guys.
This morning I started up the 63 and put it into reverse immediately because I was a bit late for work. To my surprise the car almost died and I heard and felt a weird click-click-click from my steering wheel. I proceeded to drive the car carefully to see if I could replicate what just happened. I couldn't. But the odd thing was that while I was driving, I heard a slight squealing sound and realized that it was coming from my car. The sound goes away as I slowly come to a stop. As i start driving, the noise comes back.
I called my mechanic and he said that it MIGHT be a vacuum leak or a crank vent valve leak.
If anybody has experienced something like this before please chime in and let me know what the problem was. Thanks!

Yes. There is a bulliten on this. The pressure regulating valve behind the intake manifold goes bad and can make a whistling sound.

awesome. that would explain the sound i'm hearing.. do you know if that would affect anything with the steering? the weird click-click-click i heard and felt was what worried me the most.
