what do you think?
Ok I know this is off topic. But my friend and I were having this discussion earlier.
If it wasnt a KIA. Would anyone here consider a k900? Not a new one but like in a year with about 20k miles? I know its no amg or even a MB. But just for the sake of discussion. .

No, don't care for Kia's styling. That would change if they actually put the Stinger concept into production, though.

I work for Kia Motors. The K900 is a hell of a car, however the "Kia" name is blocking out most people from buying it. We have done more than enough R&D with it ( I have jumped them, went mudding in them, taken it out on the test track, etc) and it's a brilliant car.
It's still a $70K "KIA".
FYI: I get paid to tear up prototype Kia's...Stinger is...coming

See that was my exact same argument with my friend I was telling him its just a badge keeping you away from that car I personally think it doesn't look too bad and it has amazing features just the name holding you back but as a pre owned a couple years old it may not be a bad buy depending on how it holds up and its values..idk.. These Korean manufacturers seem to be moving lots of cars and they seem to be holding up so far

Nothing wrong with Korean cars (Hyundai & Kia) - they are extremely popular here in South Africa and have a proven track record over 15 years on our roads as great cars offering fantastic value for money. They take on and beat big manufacturers like Toyota when it comes to SUV's with all the bells & whistles, service plans and warranties. My wife is on her second Hyundai and we see no reason to ever change brands. They don't always get the styling right, but give them some time.

Kia is the fastest growing car company right now. Whether or not they last (which they will), they are backed by a 10yr/100K warranty. So even if it's problematic, even after your lease or finance period is over, it's still under warranty and after 10 years any "economy" or entry level luxury car has already depreciated to rock bottom. Doesn't really matter.
We do just as much R&D than the big names. The build quality on the K900 is unbelievable. the attention do detail in the drive train is like none other.

Kia has very high depreciation and for $60K..... no way. Plus, how long K900 exist ? how do u know the reliability ? even with 10 years warranty not everybody has time to go dealer often. Ask yourself would you pay $60K for that car ? and same R&D as other big brand

I drive one on a daily basis (K900) and have never driven a car so comfortable and quiet. However, that is a free car. Until Kia gets very aggressive with leasing, we won't have any of these cars on the street. So they will remain the "unknown".
I can't answer the reliability, the brand image has just been marketed in the past few years. We aren't even a full line up (no sports car, no full size SUV, no pickup). Kia pre-2008 was something that you would find in a junk yard or driven by people that have no care about life or being happy...lol

I have heard nothing but good things SO FAR about k900....Interested in seeing the 2nd gen and then see how much they go down in value. Interesting to see where they will be 2yrs from now around 30k mi price wise...

I actually am that friend p30 is talking about, the K900 for $60K no way, not even for $40K.....me and my family have been driving Mercedes for the past 25 years. Safest cars ever built, reliable, German R&D, Quality written all over their cars. I would much rather spend that $60K on a used CPO S550 and get an extended warranty than waste that hard earned money on a KIA!
Anyways thanks for sharing y'all's thoughts. Keep it up!

Why do you think I own an AMG? Kia has been around for a while, but not this "new" Kia. Nobody knows how long they will last. The residual is horrible on these since we are still a unknown brand with limited history.

I never knew they were that much. I just looked them up on Kia's website and they are pricey. I guess they have to figure out a way to pay Blake Griffin and the hamsters.
