Fuel pump issue
So I moved to Houston and the first week there I really smell the fuel leak that are notorious with the E55. I take it to a popular place to have the drivers side fuel pump replaced which was leaking pretty bad. I was told that the connection on the passenger side looked bad but no leak. The car starts right up and I drive it to get something to eat after being at the shop for a little bit. When I come out to my car it doesn't start. I call the place that did the work and asked if I could have my car towed back to there shop on my AAA. I say no problem. As Im waiting for AAA 30 minutes later the car starts up, so I cancel AAA and inform the shop.
I drive home and the next morning does not start and since then having trouble starting and now won't start. Question is do both pumps have to be replaced at the same time. My car never had any problem starting before until the new pump was put in. Does one affect the other. Its my only car and Im now stuck since I sold my W210 before I moved. Thanks for any help ahead of time.

I got stranded last Nov 1hr away from home. No fuel pressure at all. I ended up replacing both sides for peace of mind. Some people say the passenger side never fails, so no need to replace. But didnt want to get stuck again for a couple hours before a tow truck could come and get me on a busy Saturday. Also replaced my CPS too for peace of mind.

Fuel pumps are on the passenger side (right side).

Both pumps are one assembly on the passenger side. The driver side assembly is just the sending unit with the filter inside. This ia why people normally replace both at once.

replace both and then if you get the problem when the car is hot then have them look at Crank Sensor - it will go next -
i know on my E63 the pumps were under the back seat - if you change one you may as well change both as the 2nd will foul and you will be stranded.

What's the best price for both pumps with filters and all necessary gaskets, O-rings, etc.? Mine are not leaking or having issues, but car just clicked over 95K and I know it's only a matter of time.
