Electrical issues (Rear of Vehicle)

Anyone who can give any advice would be greatly appreciated. I had my PDR guy stop by my house to jump my car. I let him set it up (hooked to rear main battery). Long story short, I came out to notice smoke coming from his truck battery and the rubber on the jumper cables melting. I immediately took disconnected everything and swapped in a new battery. everything works fine except when i turn the headlights on, the driver rear tail (lower portion)blinks as if it was a turn signal which it is not suppose to. Passenger side turn signal does not work but the lower illumination on the tail lamp does. All brake lights work, but trunk does not open with handle or the key. license plate lights do not work. Also left side trunk illumination light does not work. I have no malfunction lights or warnings on dash. I checked all fuses and they are ok. Could damage to the rear sam have caused this? If it were the rear sam wouldn't it throw a code?

Awesome someone who knows... Ok, so I wanted to know but couldn't find any information about it. Does the rear sam have some type of resistor or capacitor built in to prevent it from shorting or blowing the other electronical units of the vehicle? i seem to have all normal operation on the front end of the car. Would it also need to be programmed once installed? Thanks for the time.

you can use DAS to read the existing coding of the SAM and transfer it to the used / new unit.

I have a 2005 rear SAM I am willing to let go for cheap.
