Got rear ended. Anything I should take care of while fixing?
Wife and kid coming home. Stopped for a yellow that was about to turn red.
New teenage driver in a brand new jeep anticipated wrong. Her car was leaking oil and coolant. Air bags went off.
Car did its job incredibly well. Honestly well engineered crumple zones probably even helped the other driver. My wife says the impact did not feel nearly that bad and was shocked at how much damage there was to both cars when she got out.
I bought an amg cause its fun but I bought an e class because they are crazy safe.

only thing i can think of is the newer style tail lights - if the exhaust is damaged, go with a custom set up as a stock AMG exhaust won't be cheap by an means -
and don't let the ins company try tell you they need to use parts from a damaged car - i.e. make sure you get NEW -
As for the car check carefully the roof area as it looks like some of the force was transmitted to that area from the rear hatch.
No insurance co will upgrade your taillights, OEM only. You will look like a fool to suggest this.
The family is most important, it is impossible to put new parts on them.
Besides cash also is not in the best interest when family was involved, how do you explain to your child complaining of neck pain a week after the accident when you have nice aftermarket lights on the car. This is why you pay insurance to use it.
