Hey guys in Houston, I going to register my car this week but was wondering for this annual inspection if I have a check engine light will it pass?

 

Or does anyone have Star to clear it.

 

No pass with active cel in Houston. You can pass with 1 or 2 incomplete sensor readiness but I've yet to see anyone pass with an actual cel

 

You should have one or two people in Houston that have star. Once they see this thread you'll probably get a pm.

Just went through this. Find someone with a STAR/DAS laptop or use an Actron scanner to pull the codes and clear them. Either fix the issue or clear the codes and hope your ODB2 I/M checks complete before the check engine light comes back on. In California, they allow zero incomplete sensor readiness checks. Not fun, good luck.

 

Clear the codes, then go for a long drive to reset the readiness checks
