Need Help! Anyone have Throttle pedal E55 FS?

Hey Guys,

Looking for a gas pedal for my 05 E55. Cash in hand! Thought to ask here before ordering from ebay.

No throttle input, cars starts, has rough idle sometimes then clears up and high idle. ESP inoperative light check owners manual lit up on dash.

Did some searching on the site and seems the gas pedal is a common failure.

Shardul mentioned it is throttle body related. The gas pedal is an easy swap about 10 mins. Hopefully don't need to swap a throttle body engine only has 56k miles.

Thank You and hope everyone is having an excellent thanksgiving weekend! Gobble Gobble

M.

OK thanks for the reply shardul. I am going to check with a scanner tomorrow and see what it says. My buddy has a bluetooth scan tool. Let's see if it works.

Got code P0638 today, tried swapping the gas pedal with another w211. Does it have to be e55 specific?

Part number of other gas pedal 211 04 04. But, mine says 211 06 04. They both look the same minus the fancy aluminum cover

Now I see this little hose right behind the throttle plate

I thought it might be cut. It looks like a hose within a cover.

Does anyone have any issues with this before? Car is hesitating bad, no throttle input. Bad throttle body?

Thanks

Getting P0638 code.

Thought it was cut. could barely see. So i Pulled i out to inspect it. Looks normal to equalize both banks of the motor, If its normal its going back in. Was not expecting to see a little hose with angle cut behind throttle plate.

tried all the resting. Looks like a throttle body swap is coming next. Shardul is probably right.

Shardul, can you confirm our chime in on P0368 fault code? Thanks

Did you reset the code with the code reader?

Seems like your throttle cable from the throttle body to the engine harness is failing. Are you running a stock throttle body?

Yes reset code with torque application. Says no codes. But check light still on, ESP inoperative light still on and no throttle input. car stumbles about to shut off.

Sounds like you're passed this point, but I had a throttle pedal failure with CEL. Did not have an ESP malfunction with it though. Swapped pedal from a non-amg without issue.

P0638 is throttle body issue right? Did you try the throttle body reset procedure?

What is throttle body reset procedure? I think so. I tried a bunch of things. I am waiting for my buddy to send my extra throttle body I had. So I will try that next.

Odd thing is the torque app shows no codes after we cleared them. But the car still shows check engine light and ESP light. Not in red. Just says ESP inoperative see owners manual.

Thanks shardul, no luck with reset. Will wait to swap throttle bodies as you said to begin with and report back in a week when It arrives. Thanks!

Is a 82mm S class throttle body a direct bolt on? Thinking if I should go bigger on stock tune. >:-)

If you have a ESP fault you will not be able to read it in the torque app. An ESP fault can also put the car/ accel in limp mode.

I am currently having the exact same issue. Only code is P0638, rough idle, no throttle response. Swapped TB with a known good one and still have the same issue. Have performed the TB reset and it is still the same. I'm kind of lost now. Don't know if its a possible ECM problem??

Upon further investigation I found ESP fuse 43 blown. Car idles perfect now.
