Anyone insulate bottom of intercooler?

I am looking for before and after IATs. I was wondering if anyone did a before and after IATs, from insulating the bottom of their intercooler from the radiant heat of the engine..or the V of the engine. Thanks ahead for any response.

Others have done this. I haven't seen any before/after results though.

i just did, between IC and SC, also laid some insulation in the valley pan because i couldnt get it to wrap around the IC... i used some kind of industrial thermal insulation... about 1/2-3/4" thick...

I had my engine removed due to crank pulley shredding the key so I thought of ceramic coating under the IC while its out...will know if it worked soon

this was what the guy used. http://www.morganthermalceramics.com...-fibre/blanket

his findings were it took longer to heat the i/c up but after a prolonged run it took longer for the i/c to cool down. he also ran a tank and ice and found once the ice melts the temps went ambient no matter how much fluid was used. its the fresh ice that brought the temps down.

he sent me the rest of the roll to use on my s/c and i never got around to using it. you can have it if you want it. i just need to dig up in the shed
