he probably meant "It is very sad people have no clue what they could have FOR a few pennies" referring to how good of a bang-for-the-buck these cars are :p

But I could be wrong. I'm still only halfway through my morning latte.

It's pretty easy to figure out what these are worth, just punch it into something like nadaguide, kbb, edmunds, etc. The problem is that the seller typically wants more than those numbers. The market speaks, it's just that the sellers don't always listen. I ended up buying my car through a dealer because the ones that I saw from individual owners wanted just as much if not more than dealers and didn't offer any warranty. For the dealers, it's pretty simple, they buy them at the right book price so that they know when they sell them, they can get the markup they want. For individual owners, they just don't want to take the depreciation hit, but the longer they hold onto it, the more it drops.

Well said. I often see individuals asking more for their cars than dealers with cars with better stats (I'm referring to unmodified cars).

As an owner, I obviously hope for great value retention, and these unrealistic owners choking supply or asking too much isn't a bad thing. But sometimes I do feel some people are unrealistic about what their car is worth.

Boom. When I sold my 03 Laguna Seca Blue E46 M3, I was prepared for a 2-3 month or longer slog based on forum posts I was reading from other sellers on how bad the market was for such rare and fine cars as the E46 M3. Well, I priced my car properly based on Kelly, Nada, Clearbook and most importantly the MARKET and the car went in a week. I was so unprepared and had barely begun my search into E55's. I found myself standing in front of Enterprise rental with my few belongings from the vehicle as the new owner drove off.

^^^This is the statement of the year...ALL OF IT!!! I deal in old muscle cars and price is EVERYTHING! When I am ready to sell my own personal cars, they sell in a week or less...every time! When 'you' can't sell your car...it's not everyone else that is crazy, it is you, unfortunately!!! (Not meaning the OP, just 'you' anyone in general)

Halfway through your late and can see what I ment. Thanks. I guess some people can not put 2 & 2 together or just have all the time in the world to pick forum post apart. Oh well. Car is very clean and still for sale and feel $13k is a pretty realistic price. Gotta leave some haggle room, and not give it away.
