Keep in mind that, generally speaking, boost is a measure of restriction. All other things being equal, a 'drop' in boost such as this data suggests, could simply be the removal of restriction on the intake side. Meanwhile, the car could still be making more power everywhere, even where boost is lower.

True. A drop in pressure but an increase in volume is good. Adding ported heads and headers, you will see a drop in boost, but you will be pumping more air through that beast, just more efficiently.

Anytime I've done "effective" pre-S/C mods on my blown Fords (sheet metal plenum or proven CAI) PSIG has shown a marked increase...when no change has been made to heads/cams or exhaust.

There was a test done with a popular selling intake on a dyno and the cai gained tops 5hp, then also another person on this forum tried it at the track and got zero gain, no mph
