AMG55 Scattershield for Supercharger pulley

I subscribe to that and have just about worn out the hood release inspecting for this as well as cracks in the pulley.
I must say my ear is becoming about as discerning as a piano tuners when it comes to that proper symphony of sounds our beloved 55ks make on start up. Maybe I should have said cacophony .
By the way, I am in for certain.

Any pictures of the final product? Even with a stock SC pulley it's cheap insurance. Send me a PM with your PP address and I'll get you paid up.
Thanks!
Thanks!

30. rawdvm
And THAT ... is all 30 spots taken
As is often the case with things like this, when the parts become available, some will drag their heals (too long) or wont reply to the "parts are ready to ship" notification (the notification will be made in this thread along with pictures of the final version ... and I will send a PM to everyone on the list)... So, don't hesitate to ask to be put on the "stand-by list"
Chris
stand-by list
1. Ls1toAMG
2.
3.
4.
keep in mind that getting on the list is NOT a commitment to buy; getting on the primary list just guarantees you an opportunity to buy one when they become available (expect they will be available by 2-19-15) . Getting on the stand-by list guarantees you an opportunity to buy one IF one/some become available.
As previously indicated, I will post some pics of the production (final) version when they are ready (s/b 3 weeks or less) and those who want to can buy it then.
This first run of the AMG55 Scattershields will go for a special price of $95. Shipping is $6 for USPS priority 2-day service (in the US only). (US) Shipping is free on 2 or more.
NO deposit or commitment is required
Cheers,
Chris

Chris, trying to understand the mounted security of this as it's a GREAT blanket product idea to costly outcomes.
-What's holding it in place ? I see the bent tab on the drivers side and a spacer on the passenger side to keep it in place, centered . Lets say the S/C pulley goes sawzall mode, will this stay put under the thrashing condition ?
-The tensioner pulley - will this be making contact to the back of the pulley ?

The "bent tab on the driver's side" forms the top of a 13mm opening that captures a sufficiently sturdy 13mm protrusion (intended to attach the front-top cover) However, this acts more as a reference point (for installation alignment) than for support (although, the interference provided is more than enough to stop the scatterschield from shifting/rotating about the SC pulley's axis.
The "spacer on the passenger's side" is the primary provider of X,Y, & Z location. It is a (sturdy beyond its intended duty) SS "one-piece clamp-on shaft collar" that is 13/32" thk and slightly over an inch on its outside. Welded to the ring (with an extra large fillet) it gets clamped (with a sufficiently larger Allen screw) on to another 13mm protrusion (intended to attach the front-top cover). This locates the part quite securely.
When the dog-bones go into "sawz-all mode" (love that expression ) the ring should stay in place and provide protection.
If you study the 1st and last pics in my original post, you can see a relief in the ring for the idler. There will be no interference. Not so obvious in those pics, but more obvious in the 4th pic (where you can see the relief for the thermostat housing as well), you should be able to see how the idler pulley relief extends around the bottom of the shield to give clearance for the belt exit ... worth noting, the belt clearance relief goes even further around on the production version (than shown here) as I calculated the belt path for those using a super large crank pulley (190+) WITHOUT a BWK and adjusted the relief accordingly.
Cheers,
Chris
